About Me

Experience:

I have 20yrs experience supporting adults and young people with a variety of mental health issues in clinical and residential settings. I have worked with people with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorders, acquired brain injury, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, personality disorders, self-harm, and eating disorders. I have also worked in several drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres and I currently work part-time as an addiction recovery counsellor at the Nelson Trust residential services, Stroud. I am mixed race and also a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

Qualifications and training:

  •         Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

  •         BA (Hons) Degree in Psychology

  •         Diploma in Health and Social Care

  •         Certificate in Trauma Informed Practice

  •         Certificate in Counselling Studies

  •         Certificate in Counselling Skills

Professional Membership:

I am a Registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and adhere to their standards for ethical practice, am bound by and accountable to their conduct procedures to ensure I work in the best interest of each client.

Gloucestershire Counselling Collective:

I work as part of a small team of qualified counsellors who offer counselling in and around Stroud. I can vouch for each member's quality of work and I may refer clients to one of the other team members, dependent on availability.
